Bernard Hebda

Bernard Anthony Hebda (born September 3, 1959) is the Coadjutor Archbishop of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Newark, in Newark, New Jersey, where he will assist and eventually succeed Archbishop John J. Myers. He formerly served as the fourth Bishop of the Roman Catholic Diocese of Gaylord. He was consecrated and installed as Bishop of Gaylord on December 1, 2009 at Saint Mary's Cathedral in Gaylord. He had previously served as Undersecretary (third in charge) of the Pontifical Council for Legislative Texts, an agency of the Roman Curia in charge of the correct interpretation of the laws of the Catholic Church, especially Canon Law.〔()〕
After the resignation of Archbishop Emeritus John Clayton Nienstedt on Monday, June 15, 2015, Archbishop Hebda was named Apostolic Administrator of the Roman Catholic Archdiocese of Saint Paul and Minneapolis by Pope Francis, to serve until a new Archbishop is installed.〔http://press.vatican.va/content/salastampa/it/bollettino/pubblico/2015/06/15/0469/01027.html〕
